 Outcome study: Phase 2

National Mental Health Registry Annual Meeting for year 2007 was held on 19th November 2007 at Institute of Health Management, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. More than 200 site co-ordinators and doctors in charge attended the annual meeting. The meeting was chaired by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Hj. Dr Abdul Aziz Abdullah. As a Principal Investigator in this registry, Dr. Salina Abdul Aziz has presented the latest statistical result for Schizophrenia Registry 2003-2005.

 On the 8th of March 2007, NMHR has successfully organized “Mesyuarat Penerangan dan Pelaksanaan Pengumpulan Data-data Schizophrenia Registry” at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.  The briefing and training sessions were attended by Family Medicine Specialist, Medical Officers and Paramedics from MOH Hospitals, Health Facilities and Army Hospital. Total of centers participating in the meeting were 57 centres.

NMHR Source Data Producers Annual meeting was held in Hospital Kuala Lumpur on 18th May 2006. The meeting was attended by Hospital Directors, Head Department of Psychiatry & Mental Health as well as site coordinators of NMHR.

 The Third meeting for NMHR Coordinators was held on 1 March 2005 at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The training for outcome study was also incorporated during the meeting to ensure the uniformity and reliability of the data captured.

Official launching of National Mental Health Registry (NMHR) was held on 9 th July 2005 at Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur . All centre coordinators, medical officers, psychiatrists from various government hospitals and universities and NGOs attended the launching ceremony.

The National Mental Health Registry Schizophrenia Report for year 2003-2004 was published and distributed to all attendees.

Training for new coordinators has been organized as follow :

9 February 2004 (Monday)

2nd Introduction Course For NMHR Coordinators – the training was held in Hospital Bahagia, Ulu Kinta, Perak. 22 new coordinators from Perak, Kedah and P. Pinang have attended this one day course. The course was conducted successfully by Dr. Salina Abdul Aziz , Psychiatrist from HKL.

16 February 2004 (Monday)

More SDPs have joined NMHR in 2004. They are from MOH Health Facilities (20 centres) , District Hospitals (17 centers) and Private Hospital (1).

Total of SDPs for year 2003/2004 is now 70 centres.
